FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko commented on the home victory over FC Epitsentr Kamianets-Podilskyi (4:0) and his goal scored from the penalty spot.
– It’s nice to win. When you give your maximum in every match it’s rewarded with three points. We want to continue giving everything and achieving positive results for the team.
– It seemed that in the first half it was a bit difficult to break down the opponent’s defense but you managed to score from the penalty spot. Tell us about the ritual when Pikhalonok handed you the ball?
– That was a kind of tricky setup, a planned idea - but I won’t reveal the details, it’s a secret.
– In the second half Dynamo scored three more times. Ponomarenko got a brace today - that’s already five matches in a row in which he has scored. And Andrii Yarmolenko netted a masterpiece. What do you think about that?
– That’s the coach’s decision. Experience and youth complement each other well. We are all one team and we have competition - today one player starts, tomorrow another does. That competition is necessary so everyone grows and progresses, both in training and in matches.
– Ahead is the Ukrainian Cup match against Inhulets, then a league game against Polissya. What are your expectations and how will you adjust?
– The Cup is also a priority for us. We want to win every match and in the league to make up for lost points. The Cup is a completely different competition - it’s decided in a single match so maximum concentration is needed for all 90 minutes, and if necessary even in a penalty shootout. We will do everything for victory.
– It’s noticeable that the team is in high spirits. Is this the result of a good atmosphere within the squad or the physical preparation during the training camp?
– You can see it yourselves. Training camps are always important - they are tough but necessary. Even in difficult weather conditions you have to go out and play - no excuses. The pitch, the ball and the game - everything is decided on the field.
