FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions after defeat against FC Zoria Luhansk in the UPL matchday 3 game (2:3).
- Brazhko scored the decider. He’s Dynamo player on loan move. Dynamo didn’t let loanees play against them before. What’s changed?
- It’s important for Brazhko and other loanees to improve their skills. I can just congratulate him on good performance. What bothers me is our defensive mistakes. That was a key aspect as we were close to scoring the second one. When I worked for Shakhtar I also let some loanees play against us. But this time I didn’t make the decision. As I’ve said, I’m more bothered with our performance.
We had a lot of nervousness and mess which let Zoria have good counterattacks after which they scored. Our dedication was great and that was even a problem. They hurried and conceded too early.
Before the game I told players we’re going through tough times. Injuries did their job too – Tsyhankov, Popov. Vivcharenko got into a hospital this night. We’ve never had such difficult period before. Before the season start we had 21 friendlies. We won 18 of those and drew three. It’s hard to say what’s happened. We need to go through this.
The fitness is good, we move properly, but we have psychological issues as players didn’t see their families for a while. There’re a lot of factors that make the atmosphere tight.
We need to switch to the game against Fenerbahce now. We can still make it in the UPL, but in the Europa League we need to fight for every point.
Congratulations to Zoria coach and players on this victory. They did it due to dedication first of all. We gave them too much space and let them do a lot. As we were nervous and hurried, we made a lot of mistakes. One can discuss the lineup I picked, but considering the long distance we’ve covered I needed to give all players a chance.
