Dynamo Kyiv records — biggest wins in the Ukrainian Premier League

This material focuses on the biggest victories in Dynamo Kyiv’s history in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Dynamo Kyiv has recorded many dominant wins in the national championship, often defeating opponents by large margins. However, interestingly, the team has never scored 10 or more goals in a single league match.

The biggest win in club history in the Ukrainian league is a 9:0 victory over Illichivets Mariupol, achieved in the 2010/2011 season at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium. The match took place on October 31, 2010. Despite the huge scoreline the game did not attract much attention with only about 4,500 spectators in attendance. Andriy Yarmolenko opened the scoring early while Artem Milevskyi delivered an outstanding performance by scoring four goals. Other goals came from Oleh Husiev, Guilherme, Danilo Silva and there was also an own goal by a Mariupol player.

Another nine-goal performance came in October 2013 when Dynamo defeated Metalurh Donetsk 9:1 at the Olympic Stadium after its reconstruction for Euro 2012. Once again Yarmolenko opened the scoring and finished with a brace. Younès Belhanda scored a hat-trick, Jeremain Lens added two goals and Lukman Haruna and Dieumerci Mbokani also found the net. The opponents managed to score a consolation goal.

The biggest away win in the Ukrainian league came in September 2001 when Dynamo defeated Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 7:0. In that match Goran Gavrančić and Oleksandr Melashchenko both scored twice. The same scoreline was repeated in November 2004 when Dynamo beat Obolon Kyiv 7:0 with Kleber scoring twice early in the match and Diogo Rincón converting two penalties.

Other notable big wins include an 8:0 victory over Vorskla Poltava in 2002 as well as several 7:0 wins such as against Veres Rivne (1995) and Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk (1998).

In total Dynamo Kyiv has recorded seven victories in the Ukrainian league with a margin of seven goals or more.

Across their entire history in the Ukrainian top division the club has achieved 202 big wins (defined as victories by three or more goals).

Teams that have most frequently suffered heavy defeats against Dynamo are Vorskla Poltava and Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, each losing by large margins 13 times. Other frequent opponents on the receiving end of heavy defeats include Arsenal Kyiv (11 times) and several clubs such as Volyn, Zorya, Karpaty, Tavriya and Chornomorets (10 times each).
