FC Dynamo Kyiv faced group G leaders FC Barcelona away within the Champions League group stage matchday 3.
The White-Blues were approaching the game at the Camp Nou having very serious lineup issues. Beside injured players and suspended Sydorchuk, our team had a large group of performers who were tested positive for COVID-19. Thus Shabanov turned into left back while Andriyevskyi featured in the midfield.
In the 5th minute Popov fouled against Messi inside the box, referee awarded penalty for the home side and Leo converted from the spot.
In a couple of minutes Barca could increase the lead. Neshcheret parried the cross from Fati, Griezmann obtained the ball in a perfect position, but missed. Later Ruslan proved that he deserved being Dynamo keeper in this game. Fati, Messi and Pedri didn’t manage to send the ball past him before the break.
Dynamo had pretty good chances to equalize and Buialskyi had the best one. Vitaliy attempted with a header from inside the box, but ter Stegen parried the shot.
The second half started with another perfect opportunity for Dynamo. Tsyhankov was one-on-one with Barcelona keeper, but ter Stegen saved his team again. In a minute Kedziora scored with a header after cross from the corner flag, but it turned out the ball crossed the line in the air.
Later Rodrigues found Supriaha with a great pass and Vladyslav also appeared one-on-one with ter Stegen, but didn’t use his chance either. Meanwhile Neshcheret demonstrated his skills. He saved a perfect free kick attempt from Messi and Alba’s header. Still he didn’t cope with a header by Pique after cross from Fati – 2:0.
Being two goals behind Dynamo didn’t give up. Tsyhankov had another one-on-one chance and lost his duel again. But in the 75th minute Viktor hit the open goal after ter Stegen parried the shot from Verbic – 2:1.
Late in the game Dynamo tried to seal a draw, but didn’t manage to.

A large group of players has been tested positive for COVID-19: Tudor Baluta, Denys Boiko, Heorhiy Bushchan, Denys Harmash, Mikkel Duelund, Olexandr Karavayev, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Heorhiy Tsytaishvili and Mykola Shaparenko.
