It’s located about 80 km far from Kharkiv, so Olexandr made his first steps in football in local fields together with coevals.
Growing up with football
The boy got acquainted with professional football at the age of 11 when he was invited to Kharkiv sports school. His first coach was Olexandr Ohiyenko. Soon Osman joined FC Metalist Kharkiv Academy.
At first Olexandr was a halfback, but then became a left lateral. When he was 16 he started featuring for U-21 team of the club. In 2012/13 season he made 22 appearances in the Reserve League.
Using the chance
16-year-old youngster used his chance. He was fast and persistent and Metalist fans even compared him with Oleh Luzhnyi.
2013/14 season wasn’t a success for Olexandr because of injury, but in the season that has just finished Osman featured in the UPL, U-21 and U-19 Leagues and in the Ukrainian Cup. He made his debut in Premier League in the match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
Significant debut
In 2014/15 season Osman made three appearances in the UPL. One of these matches took place at the NSC Olimpiyskyi. FC Metalist Kharkiv lost against FC Dynamo Kyiv – 0:3. Olexandr had to oppose one of the best Ukrainian players on his flank – Andriy Yarmolenko.
“Transfer to Dynamo is a new challenge in my career. I want to make headway and succeed with my new team”, - said the player after he signed the contract with our club. Now it’s all in his hands.
