Dynamo Kyiv defender Aliou Thiare will be eligible to feature in the 11th-round Ukrainian Premier League match against Kryvbas, which will take place in Kryvyi Rih on Monday, November 2.
It should be recalled that in the previous Ukrainian Cup match, Thiare received a straight red card for “denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.”
According to paragraph 9 of Article 26 of the Regulations of the Ukrainian Cup for the 2026/27 season, such an offence carries an automatic one-match suspension, which applies exclusively within the competition in which the player received the red card.
In order to obtain official confirmation that the above regulatory provision had been correctly applied, FC Dynamo Kyiv contacted the Directorate of the Ukrainian Premier League.
In its response, the UPL confirmed the club's position that Aliou Thiare's suspension applies exclusively to Ukrainian Cup matches and does not affect his eligibility to participate in Ukrainian Championship matches.
Thus, Aliou Thiare can play for Dynamo in their upcoming UPL fixture against Kryvbas.
