He has recalled what Valentyn was like:
- He was not only a talented player, but also good person. I’m very sorry that he left us in full vigour. It was a pleasure to work with Valentyn.
- What was he like in everyday life?
- He was really respected by teammates and that’s why he was Dynamo skipper for many years. We called Belkevych “professor” as he could do unbelievable things on the pitch. There were few players like Valentyn.
- Was football the point of his life?
- Sure, that’s our profession – players become coaches. Some people start their business, but usually the whole life is devoted to the game. Valentyn couldn’t live without football. It was in his blood.
