- Andriy, what does the chance to play for the national team mean to you?
- It’s a great honor and responsibility. When a kid I dreamed of playing football as my idols did. And it feels great when your dreams come true. I remember our first Euro-2012 game against Sweden when the whole country supported us. These feelings are hard to express.
- What inspires you in everyday life?
- My family does. In my life I do what I like. I always wanted to play football and it brings me great pleasure.
- What is the most important for players to act as a team on the pitch?
- All players must be united by the same aim.
- You always do your best on the pitch. Do you demand the same from your teammates? And did you feel extra responsibility playing as Dynamo Kyiv skipper?
- Of course, I feel responsibility. Being a skipper of such team as Dynamo is a great honor. But I’ve also become more self-confident. As for exactingness…every player is full of emotions on the pitch. So everyone demands dedication from his teammates.
- Do you think it’s obligatory for each player to sing the national anthem of Ukraine before international games?
- It must come from the heart. So it’s up to every player.
- Which injury was the most serious in your career?
- Fortunately I had no serious injuries. But when I was 18 I had my inguinal rings operated.
- What are the relations between players in Dynamo?
- They are great. We always support each other.
- What does the tattoo on your back mean?
- It says that I’m capable of anything due to those who give me strength. This is my family and God.
- Do you have profiles in social networks?
- I have a profile at Vkontakte, but I visit this page rarely and I almost never respond messages.
- Which of your goals do you consider to be the best?
- I think my best and most important goal is yet to come.
- Which game was the most important for you?
- I think it’s also yet to come. Still the Euro-2012 game against Sweden was very special. It was my first contest of such level and we won that match. It’s very memorable.
- What kind of music do you prefer?
- It depends upon my mood, but usually I prefer pop music.
- What is your favorite music band?
- It’s Russian band called Ruki Vverh (Hands up).
- Due to which qualities have you become so skillful?
- I don’t like to discuss my personal qualities. There are people who can answer this question better than me. I can only state that one must work hard to achieve anything.
- Would you prefer to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona? And for which team would you like to play?
- Having such choice I would prefer Real Madrid. Speaking about some European club… When a kid I liked AC Milan as Andriy Shevchenko played for this team. But now I think only of Dynamo Kyiv. I want to achieve great success with White and Blues.
- Which team will you support in UEFA Champions League quarter finals?
- I think it’ll be Real Madrid.
- Do you have any pre-match rites? Are you superstitious?
- I’m not superstitious but still on the matchday I always try to do same things I did the previous time we won.
- Why did you prefer football?
- I wanted to be a professional player since childhood. Thanks God my dream came true.
