Andriy Yarmolenko closes In on historic UPL scoring record

In the Matchday 29 game of the Ukrainian Premier League against SC Poltava (0:2) Andriy Yarmolenko took another step toward becoming the all-time top scorer in the history of the Ukrainian championship.

In the 3rd minute of the match Dynamo Kyiv winger successfully converted a penalty kick. The goal brought Yarmolenko’s total tally to 123 goals, allowing him to move into second place on the list of the greatest scorers in the history of the Ukrainian championship. He now shares this position with Serhii Rebrov.

In the current Ukrainian Premier League season Yarmolenko is Dynamo’s second-highest scorer with 9 goals.

The all-time league record belongs to Maksim Shatskikh who scored 124 goals in the Ukrainian championship. Therefore Yarmolenko needs two more goals to become the new record holder.
