Andrii Yarmolenko: “We had to win to make it up to our fans”

FC Dynamo Kyiv winger Andrii Yarmolenko has commented upon the win against FK RFS (1:0) for MEGOGO.

- Andrii, what do you think of the game?

- As for me, there wasn’t much football today. You saw what kind of turf it was. Anyway it’s good we’ve won. We realize we totally failed in the Europa League, so we had to make it up to our fans at least a bit.

- How’re you feeling? You missed quite a lot, but today you played for 90 minutes…

- I’m fine. I did my best today as I knew there were players on the bench who could substitute me.

- Is this win important for the team mentally?

- Of course it is. We traveled a lot in the first part of the season and it was hard to recover. First of all we had to prove ourselves that it all was an accident and that logistics was the issue, not our level. If we didn’t get a point against Galatasaray and lost here, our fans wouldn’t understand that. Dynamo president said that the honor of the club was at stake in these two games.

- What do you think of the new euro cups format?

- It’s interesting. We’ll see how it goes. It’s new that we used to play six games while now we have eight and play official matches in January. I think it’s an interesting format.
