FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Anton Tsarenko has shared his impressions of the friendly against Pakhtakor (5:1) and told about the training camp in Turkey in general.
- You’ve already had more than a week of the training camp. How’re you feeling?
- We started our work in Kyiv to get in shape, so we were mostly running. In Turkey we’re mostly working with the ball and tactics. Besides we’ve had three friendlies already. I think we’re heading in a right direction.
- Dynamo finally won – against Pakhtakor. How important was that from the mental point of view?
- Dynamo always aim to win, but training camps are mostly about game practice and reconditioning.
- You managed to score yesterday…
- Early in the second half we had a really good attack and I scored. We practice that kind of combinations. This time I hit the target, but that’s about the teamwork.
- Today your session was mostly of recovery kind – a lot of fun game exercises. Players probably like that…
- Sure, such exercises should be a part of the training process as positive emotions are really important.
- You play tennisball a lot. Which skills do you improve in such a way?
- I guess, technical skills. Just like in that game when we need to hit a small goal. That’s also quite emotional.
- You work on your headers quite a lot. Do you aim to improve this skill?
- Olexandr Shovkovskyi offers us different exercises so that players were effective both on the ground and in the air.
- Dynamo practice set pieces a lot while you mostly take corners. Is this something new to you?
- When at the Academy, I also took most of set pieces. Now Olexandr Shovkovskyi tells me where I should put the ball which is really helpful.
