- You scored two deciders in first spring games. Is that enough for you to be satisfied with your play?
- Striker’s task is to score, so of course I’m satisfied. That’s also a motivation to keep working and help Dynamo win. First games after winter break are always difficult, but we’ve felt the taste of victories and we’ll keep making headway.
- You scored against Zoria and Olimpik with one-touch shots almost from inside the six-yard box. Does this mean being a classic finisher is more natural to you though you used to play as winger a lot?
- Sure, I’ve been a striker since childhood. They started using me as winger quite recently, but my head and legs remember where to run to unleash a final shot (smiling). It’s not a problem for me to use both feet to shoot, I feel confident at head-playing, so when I have a scoring opportunity I take it from there.
- What are main reasons for Dynamo failures in the first part of the season?
- Some things must stay inside the team. We must make conclusions and avoid mistakes we made.
- You scored your first Champions League goal against Besiktas. Were your emotions overwhelming or pale considering the whole group stage campaign?
- I guess they were overwhelming as I really wanted to score in the Champions League. It was the first goal of the game and it gave the team confidence.
- Dynamo signed two defenders during winter transfer window, but after forwards Moraes and Hladkyi left it became clear that the team would count on you and Yaremchuk. Is it great to feel coaches’ trust?
- Of course it is. I understand what responsibility I must bear, but I was ready for that from psychological point of view.
- Players say positive competition among teammates helps to make headway. Won’t you lower your sights considering that there are only to forwards left in the team?
- We haven’t reached the level, when one can lower his sights without harming the team. Each of us has incredible motivation as we dreamed of playing for this team when kids.
- Do you agree that current difficult situation in Ukrainian football helps young players to make headway?
- That’s true and not only for teams from the lower part of the table, but also for Dynamo and Shakhtar. Many youngsters start performing on the top level and get spotted by the national team coaches.
- Many specialists say that you and Roman Yaremchuk complete one another on the field…
- You could say that. We understand each other pretty well, besides having two strikers on the field we have more chances to create scoring opportunities.
FC Dynamo Kyiv and fans congratulate Artem on his birthday and wish success, inspiration and bright victories with the native team!
