The referee for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League Round of 32 clash between Beşiktaş (Istanbul, Turkey) and Dynamo Kyiv will be Pedro Proença from Portugal.
Born in 1970, Pedro Proença made his Primeira Liga debut in 1998 at the age of 28 and was promoted to the FIFA list in 2003. Proença refereed Dynamo's 1-0 loss to FC Thun in the UEFA Champions League qualifier in August 2005 and was the main referee, when Ukraine defeated Kazakhstan 2-1 in the 2006 World Cup qualifier.
The 40-year-old will lead an all-Portuguese team of officials at the İnönü Stadium in Istanbul. Venâncio Tomé and Ricardo Santos will be the assistant referees with João Ferreira and Bruno Esteves acting as additional assistant referees. The fourth official will be Paulo Jorge Lourenço Batista.
