Buravtsov scored for Ukraine U17 in Euro 2026 qualifying

On Saturday, October 4, Ukraine’s U17 national team (players born in 2009 or later) played their second match in the Euro 2026 qualification which will take place next year in Estonia.

In the first qualifying round of Euro 2026 (U17) Ukraine competes in Group 1 with Estonia hosting the mini-tournament. In their opening match Oleksandr Sytnyk’s team faced Montenegro, and that game ended in a 1:1 draw.

In the second match, played in Rakvere, Ukraine’s opponents were the hosts - Estonia. The game ended with a 2:0 victory for the blue-and-yellows. Continuous pressure and numerous set pieces in the first half finally paid off. In the 40th minute after a free kick from the left flank Panchyshyn won the aerial duel and Dynamo Kyiv’s Yaroslav Buravtsov was the first to react, sending the ball into the net from the edge of the six-yard box - 1:0.

In the second half Ukraine maintained their advantage and doubled the score in the 76th minute - once again from a set piece. Hamzyk delivered a corner and after the clearance he regained the ball and crossed it into the box. Serdyuk battled through defenders and managed to push the ball into the net - 2:0.

Two Dynamo Kyiv players took part in the match. Midfielder Yaroslav Buravtsov started the game and was substituted in the 70th minute while Danylo Diachok came on as a substitute in the second half, replacing Buravtsov.

Ukraine U17 will play their final match of the first qualifying round on Tuesday, October 7, against Italy. The top two teams in each group will advance to Round 2 in League A.

Currently Ukraine U17 leads Group 1 with 4 points, tied with Montenegro but ahead on goal difference. Italy follows with 3 points while Estonia sits last with 0 points.
