Four Dynamo players featured in Ukraine U21 friendly against Japan

On Monday, June 8, the Ukraine U21 national team played its second friendly match of the training camp in Slovenia. The opponents were their counterparts from Japan.

The match began with an immediate goal from the Japanese side. Just 15 seconds into the game, Yokoyama delivered a cross into the Ukrainian penalty area, where Nwadike headed home from close range, leaving Krapyvtsov with no chance.

Japan U21 doubled their advantage in the 8th minute when Umeki dribbled past several defenders and finished from a tight angle.

After the break, Ukraine conceded a third goal. In the 61st minute, Nwadike completed his brace by beating Krapyvtsov in a one-on-one situation. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s attacking efforts failed to produce a goal, resulting in a second consecutive defeat during the June training camp.

Four representatives of Dynamo Kyiv took part in the match. Defenders Vladyslav Zakharchenko and Maksym Korobov, as well as midfielders Andrii Matkevych and Anton Tsarenko, were all named in Ukraine’s starting lineup. Defender Oleksii Husiev was included in the matchday squad but did not feature.
