Four Dynamo players feature for Ukraine in the friendly against Germany

Ukraine national team are getting ready for the Euro-2024 that starts on June 14 in Germany. On Monday, June 3, our team played a friendly against the contest hosts – Germany.

The game was quite exciting, but despite a lot of scoring chances in the first half fans didn’t witness any goals. After the break the match was really intense as well, but neither side managed to hit the target.

Germans started more aggressively and made Ukrainians defend. Gündoğan was close to scoring after pass from Groß, but Trubin blocked the shot from close range.

About halfway through the first half Ukraine managed to move the game away from their goal a bit and had some promising attacks. Tsyhankov found Yaremchuk in a good position, but Neuer coped with Roman’s strike.

Early in the second half Trubin had work to do again after sharp cross from Musiala. Then he parried the shot by Beier into the bear corner. Besides, Beier hit the post from inside the box.

Halfway through the second half Ukraine seized the initiative for a while and maintained possession. Yarmolenko didn’t reach the ball in the far post after low cross from Zubkov. Still late in the game Germans were more dangerous again.

Shortly before the time Dovbyk netted the ball after mistake from Neuer, but he was flagged offside. And then Yarmolenko attempted from a tight angle, but Neuer saved.

So, it’s 0:0.

Four FC Dynamo Kyiv players took the field in this game. Mykola Shaparenko was in the starting lineup while Volodymyr Brazhko, Andrii Yarmolenko and Oleksandr Tymchyk made substitute appearances in the second half.

On June 7, the Yellow-Blues will play a friendly against Poland while on June 11 – against Moldova. Serhii Rebrov’s men will play their first Euro-2024 game on June 17 – against Romania.
