By the way, at first it was planned that the World Cup fixtures in this city would be held at another stadium – Estadio do Morumbi, where São Paulo FC, Santos FC, Palmeiras and even Corinthians played their home matches.
In 2010 its reconstruction started, but financial guarantee of 200 million dollars wasn’t provided. As SC Corinthians informed that they were going to erect their own arena the right to host the world contest fixtures was given to them.
The total cost of the stadium is 370 million dollars. It will have a capacity of 65,807 during the Mundial.
As for the forthcoming tournament curtain-raiser, let’s hope that Brazil and Croatia will gladden fans with big number of goals.
The Blazers’ head coach Niko Kovač is sure that the hosts have good squad: “Brazil have many high profile performers, not only Neymar.
We’ll do our best to surprise them. My team will attack and look for chances”.
The forthcoming game will be very special for Brazilian Croat Eduardo: “Every Brazilian child dreams of playing for Seleção. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to do that and now I’ll perform for Croatia against Brazil.
It’s a very emotional moment for me and my family and friends”.
Brazilians don’t underestimate Croatia. Defender David Luiz has stated: “There are great players in Croatia squad and they’ll try to demonstrate the best they can.
Our team is very experienced and we are ready to prove that in the first match”.
Another defender Tiago Silva has informed that only the trophy will satisfy his team: “Only the World Cup trophy matters to us, but not the second or third place.
That’s our only aim and we’ll work for that. It will be difficult to achieve, but we have a chance to do that”.
In the forthcoming fixture Brazil will play in yellow shirts and Croatia – in red and white.
So, there are only several hours left till the 2014 World Cup start. Today we wish success to FC Dynamo Kyiv players Domagoj Vida and Ognjen Vukojevic.
