In the semifinal Argentina outplayed the Dutch side.
In the consolation match Oranje will face the contest hosts Brazil, who were flattened by Germany in the semifinal (1:7).
The game will take place in the capital of Brazil at the Estádio Nacional which has a capacity of 69,349.
The Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal sets his team for serious battle for the third place:
“I had two days to analyze Brazil play and I don’t want to depend upon fortune. I hope I’ll get my players ready for the game to let them leave the trace in history”.
Brazilians aren’t going to give in without struggle. Seleção head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has stated:
“I’m much calmer now. The most terrible thing has already happened. Of course, I’ll remember that for years. Still we’ll try to gladden our supporters a bit by winning the consolation match”.
It should be also mentioned that if Jeremain Lens takes the field it will be his 27th cap.
