The Dynamo U19 midfielder reflected on the home victory over Olexandriya (3:1).
– Was today’s match difficult? How did the win come about?
- Yes, it was a tough win. We had many chances and could have finished the game earlier but it turned out the way it did. The main thing is that we won and got three points.
– You scored the first goal from a set piece. Is that something you train regularly?
- Yes, we rehearse set pieces in the pre-match training. The delivery was good, I ran into the right zone and scored.
– Is that type of goal typical for you?
- Not really. Unfortunately, I rarely score, it’s not really my style but I’m glad I managed to score today and that the team won.
– How did your teammates congratulate you?
- Of course they congratulated me. We all congratulated each other for the win, whether you scored or not. Now we move forward and prepare for the next match.
– The coach had some criticism for you during the game. Are you satisfied with your performance overall?
- Of course, there were mistakes. It’s hard to say right now - I’ll need to rewatch the game, analyze it, correct the errors and move forward.
– At 2:0 Dynamo conceded. Was it due to a lack of focus, maybe thinking the game was already won?
- I think we could have scored the third and fourth goals but we didn’t take our chances and were punished. They had one shot on goal and it was a painful one to concede. Luckily we scored the third afterward and secured the win.
– You’ve been with Dynamo U19 for a few seasons. Now there are many new players while some experienced ones returned from injuries and came off the bench today. How is the team chemistry right now?
- It was tougher in the first matches but now we’ve built connections and understanding. Plus injured players are slowly coming back and helping us. I think we’re reaching our best condition now and I hope we’ll keep winning.
– Head coach mentioned that earlier the team had to use an unusual tactical system. Was it difficult to adjust?
- Because of injuries we had to make some adjustments. But now we’ve returned to our optimal shape. We’re playing the football we used to play before. It’s much easier now and wins are coming easier too.
