- Danilo, what do you feel leaving Dynamo?
- First of all I’m sad as I’ve spent seven years with the team. It’s hard to say goodbye as I love Dynamo. I spent my best years here, but I’ve decided to continue my career in Brazil.
- What influenced your decision to leave?
- I talked to Dynamo president and told him this is the decision of my family. He understood me.
- You didn’t play a lot due to injury. What was your rehabilitation like?
- Last year I felt my knee had too much exercise load. Eventually I had to have a surgery. I always wanted to do my best for the club. I still keep reconditioning, but I’ll be ready to play in about a month.
- What are your brightest memories related to Dynamo?
- That’s qualification for the Champions League play-offs, Europa League fixture against Everton FC in Kyiv and trophies we won.
- You’ve scored three goals for Dynamo. Do you remember them?
- Sure. The first one was against Zakarpattia. Ninkovic passed to me and I right-footed the ball. The second one was against Illichivets after pass from Yarmolenko. The third one was scored last season against Oleksandria. Yarmolenko found me again and I hit the target.
- Are you satisfied with this number of goals?
- (smiling) Three goals in seven years – that’s not a lot. The thing is that all Dynamo coaches told me to stay behind when we took set piece as I’m fast.
- Many foreign players can’t adapt to Ukraine. You speak the local language pretty well and hold your hand on your heart when Ukrainian anthem sounds. What does Ukraine mean to you?
- I’m taking Ukrainian culture with me. It’s as valuable for me as Brazilian. I really like Ukrainian people and your country.
- Who are our best friends in Dynamo?
- We’re all good friends. It would have been wrong to name someone particular… Of course we were quick to understand each other with Junior and Derlis. The same can be said about Andriy Yarmolenko and other guys.
- You played alongside the best Ukrainian player Andriy Yarmolenko on the same wing. What was it like? Will you miss such teammate?
- It was always great to play alongside Andriy. We were a pretty good duo. Still I think he passed to me too rarely (laughing). Yarmolenko is a top level player and I’m sure he has great future.
- New Brazilian player don’t go to Ukraine at the moment. What do they say about our league?
- Actually, despite the situation in Ukraine there are a lot of Brazilian players, who want to perform for Dynamo. This is a great club that will always attract talents.
- Do you think you can return to Kyiv as coach or scout in future?
- I don’t think of that so far. I hope I’ll be able to play on top level for five or six more years. After that anything can happen. I’d love to benefit Dynamo if president of the club wants me to.
- Is there anything you’ll take to Brazil as memory of Ukraine?
- That’s Ukrainian flag and vyshyvanka. They’ll hang in visible place at my home.
- What would you like to wish Dynamo fans?
- First of all I’d like to thank the president of the club, Surkis family, FC Dynamo Kyiv and great fans. Dynamo will stay in my heart forever. I wish the team success!
