Dynamo forward Matvii Ponomarenko has been included in the list of players who will prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoffs.
This is Matvii’s first-ever call-up to the senior national team.
In the current season he has made nine appearances for Dynamo’s first team in the Ukrainian Premier League, although he has been a regular starter only since December last year after Ihor Kostiuk took charge of the team.
On December 6, in a match against Kudrivka, Ponomarenko made his first start. Since then he has consistently been in the starting lineup for all six league matches, scoring 8 goals and topping the Ukrainian Premier League scoring chart.
