- In some way I associate Kyiv with my motherland. It’s hot here, there are a lot of people in the streets, many small shops. As I lived in Africa I knew about Andriy Shevchenko. He is a true symbol of Ukrainian football. That was all I knew about Ukraine.
About family
There were seven children in our family which is quite normal for Africa.
I met my wife in 2007. In 2008 we got married. We have a three-year-old son whose name is also Dieumerci. Very soon my wife will give birth to our second son.
About unusual name
- As I was born my mother was thankful to God, so she called me Dieumerci which is the French for “Thank You, God”.
About move to Kyiv
As far as I know Dynamo followed my play during the last season. Later I got an offer from the White-Blues and came to Kyiv to discuss it with Ihor Surkis. I liked the city and club infrastructure. I signed the contract rather quickly. It was very important for me that Dynamo head coach is Oleh Blokhin who was a great player.
About Dynamo Kyiv
- I think Dynamo are a good team with great history. Two years ago I saw several Kyivans euro cups games. By the way I was also very impressed with the White-Blues supporters.
About new teammates
- Before the transfer to Kyiv I heard about Niko Kranjcar, Miguel Veloso and Brown Ideye. I’m also acquainted with ex-Dynamo striker Ismael Bangura and Lukman Haruna. Besides I know Ukrainian forward Olexandr Yakovenko who also played for Anderlecht.
About personal playing skills
- I think I have good technical skills and speed. I also have no problems with head-playing. As a striker I enjoy playing attacking football, that’s why I like Oleh Blokhin’s style.
