The scorer of the first goal against «Kryvbas» shared his impressions after the match.
– Congratulations on your first home clean-sheet win of the UPL season! What are your emotions?
– For a defender that’s like a holiday. We wanted to redeem ourselves. I think our team played really well today, I’m proud of the guys – everyone did a great job.
– Does it feel like this was the best game of the season so far?
– At the moment, probably yes. We took our chances, secured the winning score and kept a clean sheet in defense. Today we can allow ourselves to enjoy it a bit and rest. But ahead of us are very important matches.
Everyone understands what goals «Dynamo» has and where we’re supposed to be. I don’t look at the league table but we’ve been on a rough run recently so this victory feels like a breath of fresh air. Hopefully it’ll get us back on the winning track and keep us there till the end.
– After five consecutive draws can you finally breathe out?
– There’s no time to breathe out – the schedule is crazy.
– You have two upcoming games against «Shakhtar», just like you recently played «Oleksandriya» twice in a row. Is there any difference between league and cup matches?
– It’s «Shakhtar» and we’re «Dynamo». Everyone knows what kind of match that is. We need to tune in to play our best football so that each of us is fully charged and delivers our top performance – then the result will come.
– How important was your goal personally and how would you rate your performance?
– It confirmed that I’m in the right place where I should be. Of course scoring is a nice bonus for a defender. The main thing is that we kept a clean sheet because we’ve conceded quite a few goals this season. But today the team worked as a single mechanism – that’s how it should always be.
– The attendance limit for «Dynamo»’s home games has been increased. How much of a boost will that be for the team?
– In times like these people need to attend such events to distract themselves a bit from everyday problems. The emotions are different, not always positive but that’s football. We’re happy to see everyone in the stands.
