Denys Popov: “I try to do the best I can”

- Denys, you had a beep test today. How difficult is that?

- This test is a way to check our physical conditions. Of course it’s difficult, but we need to get through the pain barrier to see what we’re capable of.

- After the test you played in squares and that looked quite emotional.

- We were tired after test, so we did what we could. We laughed a bit which is good for atmosphere in the team. Yesterday our team won a mini-competition while today we finished last. Things change.

- Do you discuss these battles after training sessions?

- Sure. When you lose teammates mock a bit. That’s absolutely normal. These aren’t some mean jokes.

- Did you have training sessions in Kyiv between two training camps?

- That’s right. We had two days off and then two training days in Kyiv.

- What do you think of the work you fulfilled at the first training camp?

- Personally I’ve partially missed the first training camp due to injury. Still I took part in several games. Now things are a bit easier. We had decent opponents in friendlies.

- Have you already caught up with your teammates in terms of fitness?

- I think everyone has his individual fitness level. Personally I feel that the exercise load is getting less exhausting. I try to do the best I can to lay foundation for the second part of the season.
