Dynamo prepare for the match against Oleksandriya

On Thursday, March 19, Dynamo will play their 21st-round VBET Ukrainian Premier League match, visiting Oleksandriya.

Ihor Kostiuk’s team is preparing in the usual routine. On Saturday, the day after the Kyiv derby against Obolon, Dynamo played a training match against another Kyiv team preparing for the resumption of the First League season - Livyi Bereh, which is competing for promotion to the UPL. Players who did not play or had limited minutes against Obolon participated while the rest of the squad had a recovery session in the gym.

After taking a day off following the friendly “White-Blues” resumed preparation on Monday for the away match against Oleksandriya.

This game will conclude the microcycle before the international break during which many Dynamo players are expected to join national teams of various age groups. This time two Dynamo players - Ruslan Neshcheret and Matvii Ponomarenko - received their first call-ups to the senior national team for the decisive 2026 World Cup playoff matches, having previously represented youth and U21 teams.

The team is preparing at a pace of one training session per day. Each session begins with instructions from the coaching staff followed by a warm-up in the club’s fitness center.

The main work takes place on the training pitch. On Tuesday the session focused on game exercises where players worked on team coordination in possession, defense and attack.

Interestingly the team is currently training with yellow balls - the same type used by Oleksandriya in their home matches.

After training players typically continue with individual work, particularly practicing shots on goal.

On Wednesday, following training and lunch, the team will travel by club bus to Oleksandriya. The match on Thursday kicks off early at 13:00 with the team arriving at the stadium nearly two hours before the whistle.
