On Friday, February 28, FC Dynamo Kyiv will play the UPL matchday 19 game against FC Vorskla Poltava. This was supposed to be away match for our team, but it will take place in Kyiv.
Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s men are getting ready for the game at their training ground in Vita-Lytovska. On Monday players got a day off, but on Tuesday got back to work. The White-Blues are having one session a day.
Wednesday wasn’t an exception. The session started with stretching at the gym. Players got to work in good spirits, clearly following the instructions of the physical trainers, who carefully ensured that the players had thoroughly warmed up all types of muscles before going out on the field.
After that Dynamo gaffer gathered players around and announced the plan for the session in detail.
The warm-up continued on the football field. The warming and sunny weather that has recently set in the capital contributed to the intensive and productive work. After a short jog and exercises in squares, it was time for the game series. There were several of them, each had its own goal and was aimed at honing the elements that Dynamo will need in the upcoming game against Vorskla.
Having divided into groups, players fulfilled the tasks set by the coaching staff with enthusiasm. The conditions that had to be observed were diverse and constantly changing, certain restrictions were introduced during the execution of passes.
Our players worked on tactical formations, movements, specific combinations, possession and dispossession, going from defense to attack through different zones, joining from different positions to attacking actions and finding options for their development – through the center, involving the wings etc. And at the end of the session players worked on shooting accuracy arranging a real test for the goalkeepers. Moreover, separate tasks were assigned to players of the attacking group and the defense.
As for goalkeepers, at first they worked separately under the charge of Mykhailo Mykhailov and then joined the rest of the team.
On Thursday morning the team will gather at the training ground for a medical examination, theory class and a session.
