By succeeding against Iceland 2:1 in the playoffs final, Ukraine national team qualified for their fourth European championship.
Ukraine played 10 qualifying games to reach Euro-2024 finals – 8 at the group stage and 2 playoffs.
At the group stage our team competed against England, Italy, North Macedonia and Malta. Ukraine won four games, played in a draw twice and lost twice as well. Goal difference – 11:8. By finishing third with 14 points the Yellow-Blues qualified for Euro-2024 through the Nations League playoffs. At this stage our team beat Bosnia and Herzegovina (2:1) and Iceland (2:1).
Eight FC Dynamo Kyiv players participated in the qualifying campaign while three more were called up, but didn’t take the field.
Winger Andriy Yarmolenko played the most. He performed in three games – 205 minutes in total. Andriy has one goal to his name.
Forward Vladyslav Vanat played for 189 minutes in four games. He got one yellow card.
Goalkeeper Heorhiy Bushchan played two full matches (180 minutes).
Midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko participated in two games (170 minutes). The game against Bosnia and Herzegovina was his debut for the national team.
Serhiy Sydorchuk left Dynamo in early September, but most of the time he featured for Ukraine as representative of our club. He took the field in six games – 144 minutes in total.
Halfback Olexandr Karavayev took the field three times (139 minutes) and got one goal to his name.
Midfielder Vitaliy Buialskyi made four substitute appearances – 85 minutes in total.
Defender Olexandr Tymchyk took the field twice – 50 minutes.
Defender Denys Popov was one the players’ list three times, halfback Mykola Shaparenko – twice, defender Vladyslav Dubinchak – once. Neither of them took the field.
