Shortly after return to Motherland, they were taken to military hospital, where best doctors of the country save lives of our warriors. Fortunately, according to specialists, sailors’ state of health is quite fine.
To cheer them up and to thank our heroes, FC Dynamo Kyiv first team with Olexiy Mykhailychenko in charge came to the hospital. Legendary Volodymyr Muntian also came there.
Of course the White-Blues didn’t arrive empty-handed. Each soldier got a bag filled with Dynamo kit, footballs, books, scarves etc.
Besides, every sailor got personal season ticket with his name on it.
The team came by bus and brought the trophy we won recently – Ukrainian Super Cup.
Waiting for sailors to finish medical procedures, our team visited the hospital museum and found out it’s the oldest one in Europe. Next year it will turn 265.
When everyone gathered at a nice hall, the major general of medical service Anatoliy Kazmirchuk greeted all the present:
- Dear guests, we’re glad to see you at the best medical facility of our country. It’s really great that today our heroes and outstanding sportsmen meet here. I’d like to thank FC Dynamo Kyiv for finding time to pay us a visit.
Then Dynamo head coach Olexiy Mykhailychenko took the floor:
- I don’t know who’s more excited, you or us. When I told my family I would meet you, we talked about this visit all night long. Thank you for what you do, for your courage. This is extremely important to the country. We’ve very glade you’ve come back home. I can’t even imagine what you’ve been through. We’ll be happy to see you at the stadium!
On behalf of players our captain Serhiy Sydorchuk said:
- As our coach has mentioned, I guess I’m more excited than you are. I have small kids and you all are role models that demonstrate them what it actually means to love your family and your country. Thank you. We’re always happy to see you at our games.
The head of the naval group captured in the Kerch Strait Denys Hrytsenko stated:
- Your visit is a great surprise for us. We didn’t expect such support. Thank you for coming. We want to hug each of you!
We were totally isolated there and had very limited amount of information. But we had a great emotional uplift, when we got FC Dynamo Kyiv shirts. When they allowed us to put them on, we felt like we were at home. Even there some people told us they respect Dynamo and envy our patriotism. We felt the support of the whole country.
Dynamo veteran, legendary Volodymyr Muntian, also thanked sailors:
- Guys! On behalf of all veterans of our club I’d like to thank you for your fortitude. What really matters is that you’re back. If you’d like to play a football match, our veterans’ team will be happy to play with you. Get well!
After kind words there were hugs, handshakes and chatting. Soldiers took photos, players signed footballs and shirts.
Then the head of FC Dynamo Kyiv Fan-club Serhiy Mykhailenko shared his impressions of the meeting:
- This event was very important to everyone. Our club has thanked guys for their courage and heroism. Fortunately they’re back. We’ve invited them to Dynamo matches, every sailor has got a personal bag of presents. We’ll be happy to see them at the stadium together with their wives, kids and friends.
