By drawing against FC Chornomorets Odesa away (1:1) in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 29 game, FC Dynamo Kyiv became unreachable for their opponents and secured the title.
This is the 30th achievement of the kind in history of our team. The White-Blues won 13 trophies of the Soviet Union league and 17 Ukrainian league titles. None of the opponents have reached this milestone. With this said, now Dynamo can add the third star to their emblem.
Besides, Kyivans have a chance to finish the UPL season undefeated (20 wins and 9 draws at this point). Dynamo managed to do that in 1999/2000, 2006/2007 and 2014/2015 seasons.
This is the first league title for Oleksandr Shovkovskyi as Dynamo gaffer. He won 14 (!) trophies as a player. Thus Shovkovskyi is the seventh person to win the league both as Dynamo player and coach.
This is the fourth UPL success for Vitalii Buialskyi and Andrii Yarmolenko. The latter won the goal 16 years ago last time.
