FC Dynamo Kyiv hosted FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 9 game.
In this match Oleksandr Shovkovskyi couldn’t count on Volodymyr Brazhko and Oleksandr Pikhalionok as they’re injured. Meanwhile Andrii Yarmolenko, Vitalii Buialskyi and Maksym Braharu, who didn’t go to Hoffenheim, stepped back into ranks.
Dynamo took the game under control right away and opened the score in the 5th minute. Tymchyk crossed from the right side, Guerrero found Rubchynskyi. Valentyn’s first strike was blocked, but the second attempt was a success.
Dynamo didn’t decrease the tempo after that and kept attacking. In the 20th minute Guerrero aimed at the far upper V, but goalkeeper Klishckuk parried.
In the 21st minute, after cross from the corner and header by Popov, Denys Kuzyk handled the ball. Upon checking VAR referee awarded penalty. Buialskyi converted from the spot.
Home side totally controlled the situation on the field, but in a stoppage time referee awarded free kick for Kryvbas. After cross the ball hit Mykhavko who scored an own goal.
Early in the second half Kryvbas seized the initiative and things were quite tough for Dynamo, but the defense did a good job.
Late in the game visitors tried to grab a point and rushed forward mostly with vertical attacks and long balls. Still Kyivans secured the win. Thus they’re at the top of the table after 9 matchdays.
