Dynamo – Rennais: pre-match press conference of Mircea Lucescu

FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions the day before the UEFA Europa League group stage matchday 4 game against Stade Rennais FC.

- Mister, how is Boiko doing? Is Neshcheret ready for the game against Rennais?

- We’ve got only one healthy keeper left – Neshcheret. Of course he will play. It’s been only 10 days since he recovered from injury, but we believe in him.

Boiko has practically the same injury as Shaparenko – cruciate ligament. Denys will be out of football for six months. He needs surgery.

Considering these issues, another goalkeeper has joined us – 17-year-old Avramenko.

- How do you feel in Krakow, where Dynamo play home games?

- These are technically home games, but actually we play on neutral ground. Still it’s not a big issue. What’s really tough is constant travels. The way from Lviv to Krakow takes about 7 hours, so it’s hard to recondition after matches. Maybe that’s why we lost the previous game in the last minute. Anyway, we must wait for our chance and support Ukraine through football.

- Where were you when mass shelling happened in Ukraine the other day?

- We were on the road from Lviv to Krakow. We came to Poland quite late, but still had a training session not far from the hotel.

- Dynamo are fourth in the group table after three matchdays. What do you think of that?

- The result is poor. We’ve got a lot of injured players, besides we haven’t conducted transfers we wanted. Guys are doing their best. We didn’t deserve to lose three times. We’ll try to change the situation.
