Players of the Dynamo Youth Football School named after Valerii Lobanovskyi in the U12 age group (footballers born in 2014) triumphed at the prestigious international Riga Cup XXV which recently took place in the Latvian capital.
A total of 24 teams participated in the tournament and the young Dynamo side emerged as champions, successfully completing the entire path to the gold medals.
In particular, in quarterfinals and semifinals, “White-Blues” defeated Baltijos Futbolo Akademija (Lithuania) and FC Honka/Akatemia (Finland) respectively, both by a score of 1:0. In the final, Dynamo faced their peers from England’s Charlton Athletic. The match ended 0:0 in regular time with Dynamo winning 4:3 on penalties.
It is also worth noting that Tymofii Bahinskyi received the award for Best Defender of the tournament.
