Dynamo in Spain. Day 4. Rugby as warm-up, football as main course

Before the afternoon session of the fourth day of the training camp, Mircea Lucescu gathered players on the field and told that the friendly against the AFE was cancelled as several performers of this team were tested positive for COVID-19.

After the session the White-Blues found out that the company arranging the training camp found them a new opponent for Friday. Anyway, Kyivans had intense session that started with a “corridor” for birthday man Olexandr Tymchyk.

After warm-up, Mircea Lucescu offered the team interesting exercise aimed to improve speed and reaction. At first it was a handball on a small field, but goals were allowed to be scored only with headers.

Then the rules changed. Mister told players to use their feet. Still this didn’t last long either. At the following stage players were divided into couples. Each was carrying a partner on his back. Of course that wasn’t easy, but funny. Some players even managed to score goals.

Then things got even more intense. Mister offered the team to play a kind of rugby. Just like in real rugby, everyone had an opportunity to demonstrate his strong suit here. Each of these exercises induced a lot of positive emotions.

Later Kyivans practiced possession on a big segment of the field, where players had to do a lot of running. There also were traditional squares. Thus each performer covered quite a long distance.

The session finished with traditional mini-tournament. This time players were divided into 4 teams that competed on two small teams simultaneously.

After the session the White-Bleus found out that they would play their first game in 2022 on Friday – against Segunda B side Atletico Pulpileno.

The match will start at 19.00 Kyiv time at the Pinatar Arena football center.
