The White-Blues used to face Grasshoppers, Neuchatel Xamax FCS, FC Thun (twice) and BSC Young Boys (twice). It’s hardly possible to call Swiss clubs simple opponents for Dynamo.
The White-Blues faced Swiss club for the first time in 1982/1983 Champions Cup round of 32. They defeated Grasshoppers twice – 1:0 away and 3:0 at home.
Then there was a bitter experience. In the 1996/1997 UEFA Cup round of 64 the White-Blues were outplayed by Neuchatel Xamax FCS – 0:0 at home and 1:2 away. In 2005/2006 season Dynamo faced FC Thun in the Champions League second qualifying round and sensationally tumbled out – 2:2 in Kyiv, 0:1 away.
Seven years later our team managed to gain revenge and defeat the humble opponent. They won against FC Thun twice within the 2013/2014 Europa League group stage – 3:0 in Kyiv and 2:0 in Switzerland.
In 2017/2018 season Dynamo faced BSC Young Boys twice in different competitions. At first they suffered defeat on aggregate in the Champions League third qualifying round – 3:1 in Kyiv and 0:2 away. Then these two sides opposed each other in the Europa League group stage – 2:2 in Ukraine, 1:0 in Switzerland.
So, Dynamo have won six matches against Swiss clubs, lost three and played in a draw four times (goal difference – 18:10 for the White-Blues). As for home games, Kyivans haven’t lost a single one (3 wins, 3 draws, goal difference – 13:5).
