Having come to a mutual agreement with Ihor Surkis, Dudu was interviewed by Dynamo website journalist.
- There are a lot of rumors as for your not coming back to Kyiv after vacation. What is the real reason for that?
- It’s all about my family. I didn’t want this information to become public.
- But these rumors are quite scandalous. So could you, please, tell us what has actually happened?
- Well, then I’ll start from the very beginning. My wife was to give birth to our second child in January. But she had a very problematic pregnancy and I could think of nothing but her health and my child. Fortunately Dynamo president let me go home.
- Wouldn’t it have been better for your wife to give birth to a child in Kyiv, closer to you?
- The problem is that flights were harmful for her health. So I had to go to Brazil. But the child wasn’t born in time so doctors had to do a cesarean to save my son. He was born on January 23 but my wife’s health is still in danger. So I want to stay with her.
- For how long?
- Actually, that was the main topic of our conversation with Ihor Surkis. Even though the president was informed about everything, I had to come to Kyiv in order to solve all the questions and discuss everything with him in person.
- What questions do you mean?
- According to the contract I have to be with the team right now. So I came to Kyiv to explain Ihor Surkis that I can’t work properly at the moment as my wife is hovering between life and death. He understood me and we came to a mutual agreement.
- What is this agreement about?
- I asked him to let me stay in Brazil till July 1st. I offered him to prolong my contract for half a year as a kind of compensation and gratitude for understanding.
- So you will be away till July 1, won’t you?
- I really hope that my wife will be doing well and I’ll come back earlier.
- - Sorry, but I would like to once again ask you about the scandalous rumors… Was that just an Internet fable?
- I guess so. I just had a quarrel with my mother-in-law as for my leavig for Kyiv. She didn’t want me to leave my wife after the child’s birth. There is nothing to comment upon. I just want to thank Dynamo Kyiv president for understanding my problem. Nothing can be more important than family. I’m sure I’ll be able to show my gratitude to Dynamo on the pitch!
On Thursday morning Dudu returned to Brazil.
