Two Dynamo players featured for Ukraine U17 against Montenegro in Euro 2026 qualifying

On Wednesday, October 1, Ukraine’s U17 national team (players born in 2009 or later) began their Euro 2026 qualifying campaign. The final tournament will be held next year in Estonia.

The yellow-and-blues are competing in Group 1, hosted by Estonia, the future host nation of the finals. In their opening match Oleksandr Sytnyk’s side faced Montenegro.

The game ended in a 1:1 draw. In the 27th minute Nemanja Klajevic put Montenegro ahead with a precise strike from the edge of the penalty area. Ukraine responded after the break: in the 70th minute Kyrylo Serdiuk, who plays in Germany for Stuttgart, capitalized on a goalkeeper’s mistake – after failing to hold the ball when coming off his line – and scored with a shot from the left corner of the box.

Two Dynamo Kyiv players were involved. Midfielder Yaroslav Buravtsov started the match and was substituted in the 65th minute while forward Volodymyr Kvikviniya came on in the 79th minute from the bench.

Ukraine will play their next game on Saturday, October 4, against the host nation Estonia. Notably, in their opening fixture Estonia were heavily beaten by Italy – 1:8.
