A second-half strike by Artem Milevskyy in Kyiv on Thursday evening handed Dynamo a 3-1 aggregate victory over the Bulgarian champions, PFC Litex Lovech, and a place in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
The hosts went into the match with a one-goal cushion from the first leg. Nonetheless, Yuriy Semin named a strong line-up once again, even though his options were quite limited due to a long list of injured players.
As expected, the visitors showed their attacking intention from the start, troubling Dynamo keeper Oleksandr Shovkovskyy through Codó, Hristo Yanev, Iliya Milanov and some other players. In their turn, the White-Blues applied more and more pressure on the opponents, regularly committing players forward, especially in the second half. With only fifteen minutes left to play they eventually made sure of their progression to the next stage when Artem Milevskyy headed Oleksandr Aliyev’s corner into the net.
Litex had to play the closing stages with only ten men as Josse received a second yellow card for a tackle on Milevskyy.
