Dynamo's first match against FC Metalurh Zaporizhya in the Ukrainian championship dates back to the 1992/1993 season, when they played out a 1-1 draw on away soil. In the years since that game, the Kyivers have played 35 league matches against Metalurh, recording twenty-six wins, seven draws and two defeats, with the goal difference of 78:24.
The Kyivers gained their biggest win at Metalurh in the 1998/1999 season, when they outplayed the opponents 6-2. Both Andriy Shevchenko and Valentin Belkevich celebrated doubles in that match.
Ukrainian Serhiy Rebrov remains Dynamo's most prolific striker against the club from Zaporizhya with ten goals netted, while Metalurh’s best striker is Valentyn Poltavets (3 goals).
