Since 1991, when Ukraine was proclaimed independent, the White-Blues have played 35 league matches against SC Tavriya (Simferopol), winning 26 encounters, drawing 8 and losing 1, with 76 goals scored and 21 conceded.
The first match against SC Tavriya, which was played in 1992 in Lviv, went down in history. The opponents became the very first Ukrainian champions, defeating Ukraine's most successful club Dynamo Kyiv in the final. A 1-0 loss in Lviv remains their only defeat by Tavriya – home or away – in the Ukrainian Premier League (Vyshcha Liha).
The highest scoring player for the Kyivers is former Dynamo striker Maksym Shatskikh. He managed to net eight goals. Tavriya’s most prolific strikers are Oleksiy Osypov and Vasyl Gigiadze (both scored 3 goals).
