Jeremain LENS: “We play a lot of sparrings to improve mutual understanding”

- I can’t say we’ve demonstrated our best play. Still such games are useful as they help is to get ready for the UPL and Europa League.

- Did your tactics change after the early opener?

- At the moment our aim is to recondition. No matter what the score is we follow the game plan. We play a lot of sparrings to improve mutual understanding.

- At the first training camp players were supposed to cover certain distance in sparrings. What about the second stage of preseason work?

- It’s just the start of the second training camp, so in the first game our task was pretty much the same. Still as we go forward we’ll focus on tactical aspects of our play.

- Today you featured on the same flank as newcomer Antunes. What can you say about his play?

- He’s a fast left-footer. It’s great that he speaks English, so we can communicate. In the first half of the season I played alongside four different left backs. I hope things will change now that Antunes is here.

- Was the turf of good quality?

- It wasn’t. Still it doesn’t matter as we use sparrings to get ready for official matches.
