- The majority of supporters and specialists, including me, expected Germany to win, but such score is really unexpected. Still if Cristiano Ronaldo hit the target early in the game everything could have finished differently. Anyway after that misfortunes started for Portugal. In a crucial moment Pepe’s emotions overshadowed his mind. The Portuguese didn’t have a single chance for success after he was sent off.
Still Seleção played orderly even though they were outnumbered. It should be mentioned that Portugal midfielders didn’t play effectively.
- It seems Germans have the best group of attacking players...
- It’s a subjective opinion. First conclusion can be made only after the group stage.
- Portugal played withour any creativeness, especially in the midfield...
- Yes, that’s very important. Miguel, Moutinho and Meireles couldn’t oppose Germans worthy.
- Miguel featured for Portugal in the first half. How can you estimate his play?
- He started the game well as he created a scoring chance for Cristiano Ronaldo.
After that he was quite unnoticeable. It’s rather questionable whether Miguel will be among first eleven in following matches.
- Speaking about what Pepe did, do you remember how players reacted to such episodes in teams you performed for?
- It’s a complete disrespect of the team. Referee should have booked him for deliberate foul at first, but anyway Pepe headbutted his opponent after that.
When I was a player there were few players like him, but if sutuations like that occured there were tough talks after that.
- Let’s have a look at leaders of both sides - Thomas Müller and Cristiano Ronaldo.
- Germans paid special attention to Ronaldo.
Eventually they managed to cope with Portugal most creative player. Meanwhile Müller was very active and used his chances.
The game was a success for him.

- Portugal must get out of the group. I guess they’ll win two games left. They’ll make some conclusions and refresh the squad.
