Yevhen KHACHERIDI: “I always say what I think!”

Today he’s one of the White-Blues and Ukraine national team leading performers. Yevhen’s also a loving father of twins, caring husband and grandson. We’ve tried to find out how one person combines those qualities.

- You got your last red card early in the season in home match against FC Olimpik Donetsk? What happened?

- Both bookings were referee’s mistakes. In his opinion I behaved aggressively. I know I mustn’t let the team down. Actually I’m being suspended very rarely.

- Do opponents often try to use your emotionality?

- I don’t notice that often though in the first leg against Slovenia their forward Novakovic tried to make my hackles rise. In the return match everything was quite fine.

- Do you have common ground with Rebrov, Raul and Fedorov?

- Sometimes I can disagree with something or get offended. Maybe I pay for my words when I miss this or that game. Anyway this is quite natural. The thing is I always say what I think. Everyone knows that.

- What do you think of the battle for domestic league title against Shakhtar?

- We have equal number of points and we’re in for the second part of the season, so it’s too soon to make conclusions. Shakhtar can’t play in Donetsk which is difficult for them, but this is life.

- After home match against Chelsea you were in the Champions League matchday all-star team. What does such recognition man to you?

- It was great to read that, but this is desert of the whole team.

- On April 24 you got a son and a daughter – Daniel and Eva. What did you feel?

- I was really happy when my wife said we would have twins. I can’t describe what I felt when they were born!

- How did your life change after you became a father?

- I don’t think it has changed a lot. Now I just know I’m a father which is great responsibility. Such moments are worth living for!
