Throughout ten months – from August 2022 till May 2023 – Dynamo academy teams were staying in the German city of Köln because of horrific russian aggression that is still on in our country.
FC Dynamo Kyiv and Dynamo youth football school would like to sincerely thank the mayor of Köln Henriette Reker, FC Köln president Werner Wolf, FC Köln member of the board Nicole Fischer and project manager of the club Thorsten Friedrich for making Kyivans’ staying at a safe place possible.
The city administration provided Ukrainians with access to medical system, education and other social services. FC Köln kindly gave our youngsters the opportunity to practice at their training ground and facilitated the resolution of organizational issues.
We would also like to thank the manager Xia Xie, who was always helpful with everyday arrangements that emerged in Köln. We express our respect and sincere gratitude to the administration of the hotel, where our teams were staying, to everyone who provided training fields, food etc.
Dear German friends, due to you support our young players had everything they needed for a normal training process and played friendly matches against decent opponents.
Considering the ongoing war in Ukraine, the youth football league and other official games for kids can’t be held in our country, but while staying in your hospitable city children got what they can’t have at home so far.
Thus we thank you for your kind hearts, hospitality, for warm welcome in Köln throughout such a long period of time. Thank you for providing kids with everything – accommodation, training facilities, leisure etc. Players, coaches and all members of Dynamo delegation were feeling your generosity and care every day.
It’s hardly possible to overestimate your role in Dynamo players’ football careers, preservation of their football future or maybe even lives.
We will forever keep in our hearts warm memories of everyone who lent us a helping hand in terrible times for our country.
