Former Dynamo Kyiv and Ukraine national team footballer Roman Maksymiuk has been killed.
He will be remembered by Ukrainian football fans for his performances for a number of domestic clubs, including Dynamo. As part of the White and Blues, he became Ukrainian champion and won the national Cup in the 1999/2000 season.
He also made five appearances for the Ukraine national team.
In 2022, Roman Maksymiuk joined the Defence Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland against a brutal enemy. In January 2025 he went missing while carrying out a combat mission. Sadly, news of the Hero’s death became known the day before yesterday…
