Someone gives money for military hardware, equipment etc. Someone takes part in charity activities. Someone just demonstrates his patriotic position and someone goes to the front to defend the Motherland personally.
One of such people is FC Dynamo Kyiv advertising department designer Heorhiy Khvichia, who develops all kinds of posters, tickets, invitations, calendars etc. He has military education which came in useful as war in Donbas started. He’s spent about a year in a flashpoint. When he returned home he told us about that.
- I had normal civil live from 1991 till 2015 until I got draft notice. I had a possibility to stay in Kyiv and keep working, but I couldn’t do that as I knew it’s not a “conflict” or “civil war” in the East. I knew it’s war against Russia and its mercenaries. First of all I had two training stages – in Lviv region and Dnipro region. I had to learn fast to survive.
I’ve spent ten months in the area of combat operations. I was in charge of 48 soldiers and I was responsible for them and territory we secured. I promised by boys they would come back home and I’ve kept my word. We still keep in touch.
I’d like to thank my FC Dynamo Kyiv colleagues, who bought me good bulletproof vest and kevlar helmet that saved my life once. Today I work for Dynamo again and do the same job I did before.
