- We have quite intense training sessions, so the game against Veres was pretty tough. Still it wasn’t as tough as the training game we had a couple of days ago. We already understand what Mircea Lucescu wants us to do on the field.
- Are you ready to play for 90 minutes?
- We aren’t yet, but that’s temporary. We have enough time to get ready, besides there will be more friendlies.
- Can you already demonstrate football Lucescu wants to see? Have you understood his vision?
- Yes, we have quite long theory classes almost every day. He explains and shows us how top teams perform, including those he worked with. Thus we understand him better as we can see all that. He’s explained us his principles and compared them with laws of Ukraine. You mustn’t break them. We like what he offers. We feel it’s modern football.
- So you like Lucescu’s vision?
- Sure. As I’ve said, we’ll play modern football. Not only to win the domestic league, but to perform decently in Europe as we’re in for the Champions League challenge. Coach wants us to be winners in everything.
- Players say you have a lot of innovations. What are those about?
- There’re changes in everything, not only in football aspects. For example I like it that we do all exercises with the ball. I also like it that Mircea Lucescu cares about what’s happening outside the field. After every session he tells us to do all the necessary recovery procedures.
He’s focused on every detail. We have long warm-ups to avoid injuries. First couple of days were tough as we needed to understand the point of new exercises, but now things are getting easier. Coach supports us in everything.
- Lucescu has mentioned that he’s glad to have the opportunity to work with young players in Dynamo. Do you feel that?
- I like it that at training sessions, when I do something wrong, he tells me about it straight away. I’ve already had two personal conversations with him. He explains me a lot, points out my strengths and says I should use them. I used to feel some uncertainty after I missed some period. Lucescu lets me do some maneuvers. I mean improvisation in certain zone. That gives me confidence.
- So he lets you be creative?
- That’s right. Lucescu says that at first we must stick to certain laws, but when the ball reaches the third zone the game can get unpredictable as opponents aren’t robots. Thus we can be proactive, elude players, use some combinations etc. As for defense and midfield, we must do what coach tells us to.
- What are your expectations of the new season?
- We’re all looking forward to start of the season as we feel support of Dynamo president and head coach. We’re expecting something special. I hope we’ll succeed.
