Bohdan Redushko’s goal helps Ukraine U19 claim victory in Euro 2026 qualifying opener

On Wednesday, November 12, the Ukraine U19 national team kicked off in Albania their Euro 2026 qualifying campaign which will take place next year in Wales.

The hosts of the mini-tournament were Ukraine’s opponents. Dynamo Kyiv’s Bohdan Redushko opened the scoring in the 34th minute, finishing a cross from the right flank from close range.

After the break, in the 74th minute, Empoli (Italy) forward Bohdan Popov doubled Ukraine’s lead by sending the ball into the net from inside the six-yard box after a well-timed assist from a teammate. The final score was sealed in the 88th minute by Oleksandr Kamenskyi of Kryvbas who converted a one-on-one chance with the goalkeeper. The result - 3:0 - marks a confident start for the Blue-and-Yellows in their Euro 2026 qualifying campaign.

It is worth noting that Redushko started the match and played 74 minutes before being replaced by another Dynamo player Kostyantyn Hubenko.

Ukraine’s next match will take place on Saturday, November 15, against Montenegro U19. The future opponents of the Blue-and-Yellows suffered a 0:3 defeat to Slovakia in their opening game of the tournament.
