A few important things today. First, we’re preparing meetings in the U.S. with our partners. This concerns negotiations – bringing peace closer – and some other important issues, including energy, food security, and weapons. There will be new support packages for Ukraine, air defense in particular.
Second, we’re preparing to expand the Anti-Ballistic Coalition. The task remains unchanged: to have a result ready this year that can be tested. We need a system that is effective, can be produced at a large enough scale, and is preferably cheaper than what is available in the world today. Cooperation with manufacturers and with countries is moving forward quite productively. I want to thank everyone who is helping us. Right now, Europe’s strongest companies capable of making a real contribution to anti-ballistic defense are already part of our FREYJA program.
Third, I want to thank the Members of Parliament for their effective voting today. There is positive progress. It is important that they supported criminal liability for scam call centers. Accountability must be tough. I have just signed this law. It is important that there was voting to pass laws that are part of Ukraine’s commitments to our partners. This is funding for Ukraine, for our country’s state budget. The deficit is significant, and every decision that helps fill that gap truly strengthens us, strengthens Ukraine’s resilience and our defense. Next, today, I held a meeting on further legislative steps. Some decisions need to be made. There will be a decision to bring back asset declarations for law enforcement and security forces personnel who are not currently fighting in the war, to an extent that will ensure we can genuinely and effectively monitor the assets and lifestyles of law enforcement officers. I spoke today with Ukraine’s Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi. In the central executive authorities, all heads need to have their assets and finances checked – both permanent appointees and acting heads. From the tax authorities and ARMA to various regulatory agencies where the corruption risks are high. And we need to speed up the overhaul of state-owned enterprises such as Forests of Ukraine, Energoatom, and others. Based on the experience of Ukrnafta and Naftogaz – experience that worked, and worked in Ukraine’s interests – all key state-owned companies must be overhauled. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will develop and present the details of how these decisions will be implemented.
