As part of preparations for the upcoming U20 World Cup Ukraine’s youth national team played a friendly in Chile against their Australian counterparts who will also compete at the tournament.
The Blue-and-Yellows lost 2:3 (Dihtiar (61), Krevsun (72) – (18), (36), (90+2). Both Dynamo Kyiv players called up for the World Cup got minutes: Oleksii Husiev, currently on loan at Kudrivka, played the first half while Dynamo forward Matvii Ponomarenko came on after the break.
The 2025 U20 World Cup will take place from September 27 to October 19 across five cities in Chile: Valparaíso, Santiago, Viña del Mar, Rancagua, and Talca. A total of 24 teams from six confederations will compete. The group stage will feature six groups of four teams each with the top two from each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the Round of 16.
In the group stage, Ukraine will face South Korea (September 27), Panama (September 30) and Paraguay (October 3).
