- Did you like the play Dynamo demonstrated against FC Shakhtar Donetsk?
- I must watch the game once again at first. It was a good match of two worthy teams. Shakhtar played more impressively, I must admit that! We didn’t manage to use our best qualities! Blokhin’s resignation wasn’t caused just by defeat against Donetsk side. The reason lies in poor results demonstrated by the team through two seasons.
- Is your heart bleeding for that?
- Sure. I’m also responsible for everything. It’s evident that Oleh Blokhin lacked something. His task wasn’t to win the Champions League or something like that. I wanted Dynamo to win domestic league or at least reach the Champions League spot. Maybe the problem is that I believed in Blokhin too much!
- Will you start looking for the new head coach at once or during the summer break?
- I’ll take my time to think it over and consult specialists.
I’ve decided that Serhiy Rebrov will be in charge of the team till the end of the season! That’s his chance. He has at least six UPL fixtures and Ukrainian Cup semifinal. Rebrov has everything to implement his thoughts, ambitions and plans. He is the patriot of our team. I’ll do my best to help him!
- Have you already talked to players?
- I’ve talked to Shovkovskyi, Husiev and Rebrov. You see, I’d like to make a pause before meeting the rest of players.
I think the rest of the season is a good period to build the new team. We must start getting ready for the next season, but not wear sackcloth and ashes.
Our problems are nothing comparing to what’s happening in the country. We also must gladden our supporters. The match against Shakhtar has demonstrated all politicians that Ukraine is inseparable.
- Have you thought about possible candidates for the position of the head coach?
- My two-year work as the president hasn’t given positive result again. I guess you understand that I counted on more inviting Oleh Blokhin and conducting unprecedented transfer campaign.
I don’t have such possibilities as presidents of other clubs, but I did that because I love football more than money. Anyway we don’t know what the next season will be like and how many teams will participate in the UPL. What can I tell the potential new coach? He’ll have too many questions I can’t answer right now.
